A.F.C Reading caused a huge shock in the East Berkshire League Cup after eliminating competition favourites Britwell F.C on Saturday.
Britwell travelled to the Berkshire County Sports Club as the current unbeaten leaders of the Premier Division and big favourites to win the Quarter Finals tie having comfortably beaten Reading in a league game back in September.
Reading needed to turn their fortunes around having suffered defeat in three of their previous four league matches, but their young guns rose to the occasion and improved to earn a 2-2 draw in 90 minutes. Both Charlie Smith and Lewis Scott hit the back of the net for the home side in the first half.
A.F.C Reading held their nerves best to win the ensuing penalty shoot-out 4-3 and book their place in League Cup Semi Finals Day at Eton Wick F.C and Social Club in the Spring.

F.C. Baylis United are also through to the Semi Finals stage after beating Cookham Dean 7-6 on penalties following a 0-0 draw in normal time at the Iver Heath Recreation Ground.
The Quarter Finals tie was always going to be a very close encounter with both sides recording one win each in the two league meetings this season, and just two positions and six points separating them in the Premier Division table.
Old Windsor are also in the draw for the Semi Finals after their Quarter Finals opponents, Taplow United F.C. Swans, conceded the tie that was scheduled to be played last weekend.
The Os wrote themselves into the history books last season when winning the League Cup Final which was played inside the heart of Slough at the Arbour Park Stadium (the home of Slough Town F.C) for the first time in more than 25 years.
The fourth match in the Quarter Finals will see Old Windsor F.C. Reserves host higher-league Langley F.C. Reserves at the Recreation Ground on Saturday 1st March (2pm).
The draw for the Semi Finals will take place before kick-off in the Showcase Match event, the Battle of Bracknell between Bracknell Aces and F.C. Bracknell, at Arbour Park on Friday 28 February. Click here to purchase your Showcase Match tickets now.
