Britwell F.C drew first blood on rivals Old Windsor in the race for the East Berkshire League Premier Division title after a 2-1 win on Saturday.

A goal from Jack Alder gave Britwell a first-half lead at The Chicken Ranch. Old Windsor equalised when Alex Jackson scored from the penalty spot, and the tide turned in their favour when Britwell goalkeeper Matthew Bonnett was shown a straight red card for a kick out at Joseph Allen. The 10-men of Britwell showed plenty of resiliency however, and bagged all three points when Connor Shingleston hit the back of the net inside the final 15 minutes.

The win means league leaders Britwell are still just a single point ahead of their nearest pursers, Sandhurst Royals, but crucially, now 13 points clear of Old Windsor, although the defending champions do have three games in hand.

It means The Os will have to win all three of those games in hand, beat Britwell in the reverse fixture, and hope their old foes drop more points if they are to retain their Premier Division title this season.

Sandhurst Royals are enhancing their already strong claims to be the best-improving side this season with a 4-1 victory away at KS Gryf, their sixth straight league win. The success means The Royals have opened up a five-point lead on the third-placed team in the top flight.

Isaac Ababbio was the star on show at The Polish Association with a hat-trick, whilst Owen Elliot also found at route to goal for the visitors.

KS Gryf remain third-from-bottom in the Premier Division table and six points above the relegation zone, with five more league matches still to play this season.

Langley Reserves extended their unbeaten run at home in the league to six matches with a 2-0 success against A.F.C Reading, the visitors now beaten in three of their last four games in the top flight.

Goals in the second half from Harley Dyer and substitute Anis Ouandlous secured another maximum-point haul for The Merrymakers at Kedermister Park.

Langley remain in fourth position in the table and A.F.C Reading stay in seventh place.

Cookham Dean are now on a four-match winning streak thanks to a 5-1 win away at Chalvey Sports, the three points keeping The Dean in the top half and defeat leaving The Stabmonks routed to the bottom of the table and four points from safety.

Chalvey broke the deadlock at The George Pitcher Memorial Ground when Zakaria Zaoui found a route to goal midway through the first half, but that was as good as it got for the home side.

Cookham equalised through Shane Donaldson just seven minutes later. Three goals in six minutes turned the tables in the second period; Josh Chaperson, Joshua Bull and substitute Michael Holmes all hitting the back of the net. Owen Bagshaw put the icing on the cake with a fifth goal for the visiting side in the final minute of normal time.

F.C. Baylis United ended a run of three straight defeats on the road to win 5-2 at second-bottom Pundit F.C, who are now on a seven-match losing streak in the Premier Division.

Aadam Ikram scored either side of the break for F.C. Baylis at the George Pitcher Memorial Ground, with further goals from Rahim Akhtar as well as substitutes Kamran Khan and Lazarus Akunekwe.
