The East Berkshire Football League revelled in a Super Saturday in Division One last weekend.

The League witnessed a first-ever Bracknell Derby Day Match, the record for biggest win of the season was broken, and two teams put their unbeaten starts on the line.

F.C. Bracknell and Bracknell Aces are both League debutants this season and clashed in the very first Bracknell Derby Day Match, and over 100 spectators came out to watch a thrilling contest at the Great Hollands Recreation Ground.

The two new rivals were locked in a 1-1 draw at the half-time whistle, before F.C. Bracknell raised their game to win 4-1. Calvin Grainger scored twice in the derby day success with further goals from man-of-the-match Andre Jardim and substitute, Callum Cobb. The Bracknell Aces goal came from Harvey Redman, an outstanding free-kick that will no doubt be shortlisted for Goal of the Season.

F.C Bracknell have now extended their winning streak in the League to five matches, scoring an impressive 21 goals in the process and conceding just three times. The red-hot stars remain in third position in the Division One table and just a single point behind the leaders.

Bracknell Aces remain in a mid-table position, and it was reported the team were not clinical enough in front of goal to get anything out of the derby game.

Old Windsor Reserves set a new record for biggest win of the season so far when trouncing Taplow United Swans 10-1 - beating the previous record set by Eton Wick the weekend before, an 8-0 success against Barton Rovers.

The match was over as a contest at half-time as The Os scored five goals without a response from Taplow. Nathan Mclean bagged a brace, with Sean Blandford, Liam Spires and Mark Walker all also finding the back of the net in the first period at the Old Windsor Recreation Ground.

Spires scored twice more in the second half to complete his hat-trick, with further goals from Blandford, Lewis Hewitt and player-manager Trent Wareham, who came on as a late substitute to bag the tenth goal for his team inside the final two minutes.

The consolation effort for Taplow United Swans came from Alex Seymour, but his side are still looking for a first win in the East Berkshire League this season.

Barton Rovers were thumped at Eton Wick last weekend and had the daunting task of trying to keep out Division One leaders, Hype Train, in their meeting at Theale Green School on Saturday.

The Rovers were showing real signs of improvement defensively as the score remained goalless at the break, but both Shay Edwards and Lucas Coe found a route to goal in the second period to ensure the table toppers left with all three points.

Barton are still in search of a first point in East Berkshire League football, but did register their very first goal thanks to an effort from Jamie Eaton.

Slough Heating Laurencians Reserves remain in second position in the table thanks to an 8-0 mauling of Eton Wick, and there was seven different goals scorers at Haywards Mead. Callum Stanley led the route with two goals. The other six to hit the back of the net were Steffen Bennett, Alfie Clark, Stephen Downing, Sherif Elghoneimi, Ben White and substitute, Jack Higgins.

Berks Elite extended their unbeaten start to the season with a 4-0 success over HKRG United at the Aldermaston Recreational Society. Both Pablo Salter and Daniel Plummer scored in the first half, and the hosts secured all three points when Salter scored again in the second period as well as Clifford Gyamfi. HKRG United did not help their chances of getting back into the game when Ka Chun Yip was shown a second caution with 15 minutes still to play.

Caversham United lost a little bit of ground in the promotion race after being held to a 2-2 draw by Real Saracens at the George Pitcher Memorial Ground. The returning Bevan Van Wyk scored either side of the break for The Billy Goats, but substitute Sulayman Jatta found the target twice for Real Saracens, one a late equalising goal for a share of the points.
