There was a huge swing in momentum in the race for the East Berkshire League Division One title after F.C. Bracknell dropped points for only the third time this season on Saturday.
Bracknell had been setting a relentless pace at the top of the table thanks to an incredible 14-game winning streak, a remarkable run of form that started after losing on the opening weekend of the campaign and ended with defeat at the hands of championship rivals Slough Heating Laurencians Reserves two weeks ago.
That result gave The Lauries hope that Bracknell hands might be slipping off the famous silverware, and now the Slough-based team are the new favourites to wear the crown after Bracknell drew 2-2 at Old Windsor Reserves on Saturday.
The game at Old Windsor Recreation Ground was goalless at the break, but a Mark Walker brace twice put the home side in front in the second period. To their credit, Bracknell fought back on both occasions and equalised through Zubin Khaliq and Ben Poynter, but the league leaders could not find a crucial third goal to leave with maximum points.
Elsewhere, Slough Heating breezed past Eton Wick 4-0 at The Polish Club thanks to a Michael Croker double plus further goals from Michael Sanderson and Callum Stanley.
The results mean F.C Bracknell remain top of the table but now only four points ahead of Slough Heating who have two games. One of those matches is a mouth-watering clash with Old Windsor Reserves at the 1878 Stadium in Burnham this Saturday (2pm kick off, £3 entry).

The Os stand third in the table and although highly unlikely to win the league themselves, trailing Bracknell by 13 points, they could return the favour by taking points off Slough Heating this weekend.
The race for the other two promotion spots is equally as exciting with currently only three points separating Hype Train in third position to Prospect F.C in sixth place.
Following back-to-back defeats, Hype Train regained the winning thread thanks to an 8-1 victory over HKRG United at Waingels College. Ashley Rockall was the star on show thanks to a personal four-goals haul, scoring twice either side of the break.
Both Mark Bush and Mohammad Ilyas Abdulwahab found a route to goal inside the opening 10 minutes of the contest, with Luke Follington and substitute Thomas Dalgarno adding to the route in the second half.
Prospect F.C got their own push for promotion back on track with a 7-1 success over Barton Rovers at Theale Green School. The Jarzebowski brothers, Dawid and Jakub, taught their hosts a lesson after both scored a hat-trick in the win. Mikolaj Watroba also hit the back of the net.
The Barton consolation effort came from Jamie Eaton, but Rovers remain rooted to the bottom of the league table.
Bracknell Aces continued their Spring improvements with a 2-0 win away at Taplow United Swans: The Aces extending their unbeaten run to three games since losing to rivals F.C. Bracknell in the Battle of Bracknell Showcase Match event.
Goals from both Abdulrasaq Aremu and Ciaran McNamara ensured Bracknell left Popes Field with all three points.
