Caversham United maintained their perfect-winning record in Saturday adult men’s football when making progress in the Berks & Bucks F.A. David Grainge Trophy last weekend.

The Billy Goats have won in all three of their opening matches in the East Berkshire Football League Division One and have now transferred that form into county cup competition.

Caversham hosted Hanney F.C in the First Round, the visitors to Reading currently unbeaten in Division Three of the Oxfordshire Senior League.

The E.B.F.L representatives brushed them aside with a convincing 5-1 victory. Both Ross Blakemore and Daniel Amponsah scored twice in the success, with Lucas Shaffner also hitting the back of the net.

There will be an all-E.B.F.L tie in the Second Round of the David Grange Trophy as the Billy Goats will travel to the winners of the match between Hype Train and Old Windsor Reserves - that First Round match due to take place this Saturday.

Slough Heating Laurencians Reserves also progressed into the next round following their 4-2 win on penalties against Westwood Wanderers Reserves, the two sides drawing 1-1 in 90 minutes. Slough Heating found a route to goal through Sherif Elghoneimi in the second half.

The reward for Slough Heating is a home tie in the Second Round against Kennington Athletic Reservers, a team that has currently won in all three matches in Division Two of the Oxfordshire Senior League.

Kennington booked their place in the last 32 of the county cup competition when edging out E.B.F.L representatives, Prospect F.C, 3-0 on penalties following a 2-2 draw in 90 minutes.

Prospect player-manager, Dawid Jarzebowski, and Mikolaj Watroba scored either side of the break, whilst Ben Cruttenden twice hit the back of the net for Kennington Athletic.

Bracknell Aces were awarded a walkover win in the First Round of the competition after their drawn opposition, Long Wittenham Athletic, conceded the tie. The Aces will head to Kintbury Rangers Development in the Second Round on Saturday 19 October. Kintbury are currently mid-table in Division One of the Corsham Print Wiltshire Senior League.

FC Bracknell conceded a two-goals lead in the first-half to draw 2-2 with Mortimer Reserves, and then exited the competition after a 4-3 defeat on penalties. Both James Croft and substitute Luke Roxburgh-Smith were on target in normal time for Mortimer, the Thames Valley Premier League Division One side then winning in the ensuing shoot-out.

HKRG United were winning at half-time in their First Round tie at AFC Grove but eventually lost 5-1 to a team unbeaten in Division Two of the North Berkshire League. Grove substitute Ben Hadley scored a hat-trick inside 15 minutes of the second period, with both Kongkiat Sattrupinart and Ewan Lillies also finding a route to goal.
