The green shoots of recovery continue to sprout at Frontline F.C after the team recorded a second successive win in the East Berkshire League Premier Division on Saturday.

Frontline finished as runners-up in the Premier Division last season, but four defeats in seven league matches created some uncertainly as to whether the team could reach those levels again this year.

Three of those four defeats came on the road and one to new rivals, F.C. Baylis United, a loss which Frontline will look to avenge in a Showcase Match event in the spring.

But, now back at their Burnham Grammar School home, Frontline have schooled defending champions, Old Windsor, and now K.S. Gryf to take maximum points this February and climb up to third position in the table.

Imran Kassim bagged a brace, with both Sayyid Saleh and Waleed Khalid on target for Frontline. The victors were however, reduced to 10 men when Musab Hanif was shown a straight red card.

K.S. Gryf have now suffered three consecutive defeats and sit third from bottom in the Premier Division table, six points above the relegation line. Gryf will be hoping that Chalvey Sports fail to beat Pundit when the two bottom sides clash in league fixtures over the next fortnight.

Old Windsor are now on the back foot in the race for the Premier Division crown but got the defence of their title back on track with a 6-2 success away at Langley Reserves last weekend.

It could be a turning point in the season for both sides: The Os would have surely conceded the title had they left Langley empty-handed, and for The Merrymakers it represents a first defeat in the league at Kedermister Park since the opening day of the season.

It was an action-packed first half that saw Old Windsor take a 4-2 lead into the break. Joseph Allen twice hit the back of the net, with Joseph Moore and Harry Farnan also finding a route to goal. Langley were still in the contest at the halfway point thanks to a Joe Rose brace.

The visitors secured all three points when Leyton Hill came off the substitutes bench to score a fifth goal, before Farnan put some icing on the cake with a sixth team effort in the final minute of the game.

The win means Old Windsor have moved back into the top half of the table but still 10 points behind their arch rivals and current leaders Britwell, although the Os can bridge that gap significantly by winning both of their games in hand.

Langley remain in fourth spot and in the battle for a top three finish in the top flight this year.
