Old Windsor will have the chance to defend the Slough Town Challenge Cup after beating Britwell on Saturday to reach the 2025 final.

The Os won the Challenge Cup for the first-ever time in 2022 and regained the famous silverware last season.

And now, the football club has the opportunity to join a small and illustrious group that has lifted the iconic trophy on three separate occasions.

The opponents in the Good Friday (April 18) showpiece will be F.C. Beaconsfield, former members of the East Berkshire League and the Hellenic League, who beat Frontline in the other Semi Finals match.

And the 2025 Challenge Cup Final will move back into the heart of Slough for the first time in more than 25 years when being played at the Arbour Park Stadium.

The Semi Finals tie at the Old Windsor Recreation Ground was billed as a clash between the current cup holders and Britwell, the East Berkshire League Premier Division leaders, a club eager to etch their name into the Challenge Cup for the first time.

Joseph Allen hit the back of the net inside 10 minutes for the home side, before Chris Tierney secured Old Windsor’s place in the final with two second-half goals.

Cookham Dean moved back into the top four of the Premier Division thanks to a 4-0 win against KS Gryf at the Alfred Major Recreation Ground.

There was nothing to split the two sides for an hour until Simeon Broadbent put Cookham in front, and all four goals came within 10 minutes as the home team put the game to bed. Joshua Wright scored twice inside three minutes, and Samuel Toombs came off the substitutes bench to rubber-stamp the win.

The Dean still have three league matches to play this season with a third-place finish a realistic opportunity in their first-ever season in the East Berkshire League.

KS Gryf remain second from bottom and two points above the relegation zone with two games still to play. Gryf have a crunch match against fellow strugglers Chalvey Sports at The Polish Club on March 22: a win for either side would guarantee their status in the Premier Division for next season.

Most wins in the Slough Town Challenge Cup
