Old Windsor F.C. Reserves continued their sensational form in cup competitions this season when beating Cookham Dean in the Quarter Finals of the Ascot & Fielden District Charity Cup on Saturday.

The Os have already written themselves into the history books this year by becoming the first-ever team to reach three consecutive finals in the East Berkshire League Presidents Cup: runners-up in 2023 and winners in 2024.

Trent Wareham and his side will feature in League Cup Semi Finals Day when going head-to-head with A.F.C Reading at Eton Wick F.C & Social Club on Saturday 5 April (12:15pm kick off).

And now, the Reserves are on course for a remarkable cup treble after a narrow 1-0 win against Cookham in the last eight of the Ascot & Fielden Cup. Substitute, Lewis Hewitt, stepped up to score from the penalty spot on 73 minutes at the Recreation Ground.

In truth, Cookham Dean failed to create any real chances at goal, and their afternoon got worse when Owen Bagshaw was shown a straight red card three minutes into time added on at the end of the game.

Old Windsor will now travel to either Bracknell Aces or Slough Heating Laurencians Reserves in the Semi Finals later this Spring.

The Old Windsor first team cut the gap on leaders Britwell to seven points in the race for the East Berkshire League Premier Division title after a 3-0 victory away at Chalvey Sports.

All three goals were scored within six minutes of the second half; Joseph Allen, Harry Farnan and James Walton ensuring The Os took all three points from the George Pitcher Memorial Ground.

There was nothing to separate Langley Reserves and Sandhurst Royals in a 1-1 draw at Kedermister Park. Owen McCarthy gave Langley a first-half lead, but Tom Shakran came off the bench to strike after the break and ensure the points were shared.

The result means Langley remain safely in a mid-table position, whilst Sandhurst again miss out on the chance to move to the top of the table. The Royals are now winless in three games with one still to play, but are guaranteed a top-half finish at least, which is commendable in their first campaign in the Premier Division.

There was no change in the race for the Division One crown as both F.C. Bracknell and Slough Heating Laurencians Reserves recorded eight-goal wins last weekend.

League leaders Bracknell put eight past Prospect F.C at Great Hollands Recreation Ground. Zubin Khaliq stole the show with a hat-trick, whilst Ben Clarke came on as a substitute to hit the back of the net twice inside the final five minutes. The other goals came from Tommy Rydell-Board, Jake Cook and Callum Cobb.

The shuddering defeat means Prospect miss the chance to go level on points with Old Windsor Reserves in fourth position, and the Reading-based team are at the disadvantage of having played more games than their rivals in the promotion picture.

Slough Heating breezed past bottom side Barton Rovers despite being reduced to 10 men when Ellis Drummond was shown a straight red card. Both Alfie Jago and Callum Stanley twice found a route to goal, with John Brennan, Alfie Clark, Joshua Kurton and substitute Michael Sanderson all also on target at The Polish Club.

Hype Train missed the chance to climb up two places to third position following a 4-0 defeat at the hands of Bracknell Aces at Ringmead.

Ciaran McNamara was at the double for The Aces, with Lewis Lancaster and Harvey Redman also striking. The home side were reduced to 10 men when Owen Harris was shown a straight red card.

The race for promotion is wide open as we head into Spring with just four points separating Caversham United in third spot to Prospect F.C in sixth. Those two sides as well as Hype Train are in contention to join F.C. Bracknell and Slough Heating in achieving promotion to the Premier Division.

Eton Wick closed the gap on the top half of the table to six points thanks to a narrow 1-0 success at Taplow United Swan. A first-half goal from Orren Oliver was the difference between the two sides at Popes Field.
