Old Windsor F.C. set for 'Clash of Champions' with Westwood Wanderers in the Berks & Bucks F.A. Charles Twelftree Trophy

PICTURE: Old Windsor won the East Berkshire League Premier Division title last season, one part of an historic treble that also included the League Cup and the Slough Town Premier Cup.

There will be a clash of champions in the Quarter Finals to the Berks & Bucks F.A. Charles Twelftree Trophy this season after Old Windsor drew Westwood Wanderers.

Old Windsor are the East Berkshire League champions and will travel to Westwood Wanderers, the current kings of the Thames Valley Premier League, in a mouthwatering tie on Saturday 11th January 2025 (1.30pm).

The Os reached the Quarter Finals stage are beating Abingdon Abbots 4-3 on penalties following a 0-0 draw at the Oxfordshire Senior League side on Saturday.

Old Windsor do have some history of beating Thames Valley Premier League teams in the Berks & Bucks Cup this season, Wargrave were eliminated in mid-October and Burghfield, the current Charles Twelftree Trophy holders, edged out on penalties in the third round.

The Quarter Finals showdown will be a fourth consecutive home draw for Westwood, the Wanderers have so far eliminated Binfield Under 23s Development, Reading YMCA and Hungerford Town Under 23s to reach the final eight of the competition.

Westwood currently stand in fifth position in the TVPL Premier Division table and five points behind current leaders, Maidenhead Town, but with at least one game in hand on all the sides above them.

Old Windsor are currently second to Britwell in their bid to retain the EBL Premier Division crown, seven points behind the pace setters but with three matches in hand on their old rivals.

Cookham Dean have reached the Quarter Finals to the Ascot & Fielden District Charity Cup competition after a narrow 1-0 win against Frontline. A single goal from Shane Donaldson was the difference between the two sides at the Alfred Major Recreational Ground.

Old Windsor Reserves produced one of the best comebacks of the season to reach the Semi Finals in the Presidents Cup, the Os recovering from falling two goals behind against F.C. Bracknell to draw 2-2 in normal time and then win 5-4 on penalties.

A goal from Daniel Pilcher midway through the first half got the comeback under way, and The Os levelled up the tie at two apiece through Oliver Murray in the 78th minute.
