PICTURE: Old Windsor F.C first team were named the East Berkshire League Team of the Month for September 2024, and the Os started the month of October with progress into the Quarter Finals of the Slough Town Premier Cup.
Old Windsor F.C showed no signs of loosening their grip on the Slough Town Premier Cup trophy after a high-scoring win in the First Round of this seasons competition on Saturday.
The Os brushed aside KS Gryf 6-1 at The Polish Association to take the first step on the path to the Final at the Arbour Park Stadium.
Harry Farnan struck twice for the visitors in the first half, but Gryf were able to halve the deficit before the break. Farnan was the chief destroyer for Old Windsor and he scored twice more in the second period, and additional goals from Toby Donnelly and substitute, Drue Hunt ensured their progress would be smooth.
Striker Harry Farnan has been in red-hot form since returning to Old Windsor a few weeks ago, bagging seven goals in just matches following a hat-trick against F.C. Beaconsfield in the Premier Division the previous weekend.
The reward for The Os is a trip across Berkshire to A.F.C Reading in the Quarter Finals on Saturday 30th November.
Langley F.C. Reserves are out of the Slough Town Cup having suffered the heartache of losing on penalties against Taplow United. The two sides drew 1-1 after 90 minutes at Kedermister Park, before the Hellenic League team won the ensuing shoot-out 3-4.
A goal from Chance Meyer-White gave Langley a chance of progression whilst Jakub Nowotynski hit the back of the net for Taplow. Daniel Obreja became the hero for Taplow in the shoot-out, the goalkeeper saving three of the Langley penalties.
The reward for Taplow United is a home tie in the Quarter Finals against Frontline on Saturday 30th November.
