Sandhurst Town manager Jordan Goodall is confident his team will welcome Frontline Reserves with a hunger to keep on winning and return to the top in East Berkshire League Division One this Saturday (2pm ko).
The two sides have both made an impressive start to the new season and the winners at the Sandhurst Memorial Park will become the new division leaders in what looks an ultra-competitive league.
Goodall has respect for Frontline and their Chairman, Imran Bhatti, but believes his men has a newfound focus and character to maintain their impressive form and challenge for promotion this term.
Goodall said: “Going into our third home game in a row on Saturday, we have three wins out of four in the league and four wins out of five in all competitions.
“We know Frontline well, I have great respect for Imran, he has a good side which has given us some tough games over the past few seasons.
“We will be looking to make amends for our defeat to them late on in the last season, take three points and hopefully return to top spot in Division One.
“I’m not one to get too carried away but, we’ve had a great start Sandhurst. It’s been a few building years, but the boys are really up for the fight this season. We’ve grown as a squad, we have more character about us, we work hard and we have some real spirit.

“The boys enjoy winning as much as I do, and want to keep winning every game that comes along.”
Goodall continued: “Frontline, we know, is another tough side in this league but, our focus will be on our performance and how we approach the game. We want to make it difficult for any team to play us, and even harder for any team to take points off us.
“The boys know what I’ve drilled into them, it’s early in the season and things can change very quickly. We have to approach every game with the same mentality, the same fight, and the same hunger to win every game in front of us.
“A big shout out to the massive support we get home and away from everyone following us and routing for us. It brings us great pride to get a result for not only us but those in support, that drives us on too.
“Three points will be big in any game, we just need to focus on making that happen. It’s a big month ahead and each game is huge for us.”
